First things first, after my usual skin care routine, I like to start off with a good tinted moisturiser or BB cream. At the moment I'm using the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream, it's lovely and dulls down scars and is an extra layer against the aforementioned "tube air". However it can tend to be a tad too dewy if you put a little bit too much on (I'm not sure if this is only applicable to more oily skins) which I find can be a bit icky if you get too oily, as it then feels like your face is just a magnet for grime to get stuck in to. For the more oily skins, the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser is much less dewy and I think it may have been one of the few TM's that are marketed as being "smog proof". So it depends on your skin type and how fussed you are over nasties in the air really.
For concealer, I want some pretty heavy coverage over spots or scars, and an illuminating product under my eyes and cheekbones (illuminating products are great for this time of year when artificial light is more common), Collection currently cover both of my needs for around £4 each - barginous! I also pop a little drop of Benefit Sun Beam highlighter and Chancel Bronze Universal over my cheeks for that extra office glow. For the eyes I curl my lashes and then use a waterproof mascara to hold them all day, the Maxfactor False Lash effect is amazing for this, I also pop on a little nude eyeliner if i've been up from an unholy hour. For touch ups I carry my Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation and Simple Moisture Mist (in case of touch up overload).
Naturally, there's a lip balm thrown in for good measure. I really love this combination as it has a "no makeup" feel to it, and doesn't need to much extra care throughout what is most likely to be a hectic day, but I also feel comfortable which is essential for days where I'm meeting new people!
That's all from me tonight folks, keep your eyes peeled over the weekend for another few posts! I've got so many lovely things to show you all and to talk about I am literally bursting to get it all out!
Hope you all have lovely weekends! x
