The Beauty Basket #2

Another day, another overflowing basket of beauty products. If you've read beauty basket #1, then you'll know that the beauty basket is basically my tidy for things that are lying around my room for one of 3 reasons: a) It needs to be blogged about, b) I don't want to tidy it away and not be able to reach it from my bed c) I'm using it every day and refuse to put it away. Basically I'm just lazy....

It's basket number two and the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush shower gel is making itself at home, I love the smell of this so much that I've even gone and purchased the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush body butter. Yes, I do want to smell of limes/cola bottles every second of every day!

Unfortunately, the sweet waft of the Soap and Glory products doesn't last forever, so my choice of perfume for the last few weeks has been Marc Jacobs Daisy. I never really used to like floral scents, but I gave this a sniff and decided it was definitely one I could get on board with. After months of lusting after it my dad picked it up for me as a birthday present. Three words: Very - Happy - Suzie.

My skin has been seriously dry recently, so the Origins Drink Up Intensive mask and Hydraluron are making a comeback. In the summer when everyone raved about the Drink Up Intensive mask, I liked it but never felt in love with it. Now the colder months are upon us, we're best friends. To prevent drying my skin out, I've also been leaning towards lighter, more moisturising bases during the day. The This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle has been the only thing floating around in the basket base wise, and my skin looks much more hydrated at the end of the day than it did when I was using the YSL foundation. So far I like it, but do I love it? I'll let you know...

I'm also trying to use up a couple of items, the Origins Dr Weil Mega Bright Serum and the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream. They're both nice, but nothing to really write home about. My final item in the basket is the Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo. Yes it makes your hair feel powdery, but I genuinely love this stuff! I went without it for about two months, and those were two very sad months indeed.

So that's the beauty basket as it stands, I have a feeling the next basket may feature the last item in the Sugar Crush set and maybe a new Clarins purchase?...

  1. I love the photo, it's so colourful and beautiful ^_^. I have never tried anything from Soap & glory except a mascara, I really want too though and the sugar crush shower gel does sound great. x

  2. Love everything you mentioned in that basket, I'm so lusting after the Sugar Crush shower gel! x

  3. Lime and cola bottles? Im going to have to give that a sniff in boots x

  4. I need to get myself to a Boots to sniff this Sugar Crush scent that everyone seems to be raving about! Lime and cola bottles definitely sounds appealing! xx

  5. I've been rather liking the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream :) I find it sinks in really well!!

    1. I didn't rate it at first, but I realised earlier it's really reduced my dark circles... might have to repurchase!

  6. This basket seems like perfection to me, I love it!

  7. I love your posts! They're always so interesting and informative :) x

  8. Really like your beauty basket posts. The Sugar Crush range is SO good I love it, although some say it's a little too overpowering I can't get enough.
