Minimal makeup? Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I'll try not to bore you with that spiel. But when it comes to late summer evenings, I still try to get as much sleep as possible. Even if it means sacrificing my beloved eyeliner and lashings of curl holding mascara. I find that the extra 30 minutes in bed makes all the difference to both my mood and skin.
After a good nights sleep blemishes and redness always appear to be dramatically reduced. This means that once i've applied my Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning, I can opt for far less concealer - Origins Plantscription concealer in shade three (SHADE THEE PEOPLE! Summer is officially in full swing) - and a smidge of tinted moisturiser through the centre of my face. Naturally it has to be the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser, I'm currently a mixture of Fawn and Bisque thanks to my SPF loving ways (my body is definitely far browner).
Once my base is done, a quick whip through the brows with both ends of the Topshop brow pencil keeps things in check. Then out come the Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curlers followed by a coat of the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme mascara, if you need something that holds a curl, look elsewhere, but for natural, fluttery lashes this ticks the lash loving boxes.
On my lips? Nothing but the odd bit of left over toothpaste as I make a break for the door unfortunately. Luckily I have the boy at my side to correct these mishaps before I come into contact with the outside world. Thanks boyfriend.
