NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Makeup: Summer Updates

The contents of my makeup bag has been pretty consistent recently. BB cream. cream blush, eyeliner, mascara, DONE. But a flick through the makeup stash last week highlighted some beauties that i'd long forgotten.

Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation: After 6 months of extremely limited use, I can't quite decide whether i've fallen in love with this one. In terms of coverage it's a medium to heavy kinda deal. This would be fine if it was easier to blend - me thinks some mixology with a lower coverage product could be the key - watch this space.

Maybelline The Falsies Black Drama: Purchased after months of Tanya Burr raves, this mascara has been added straight into my makeup bag now that I'm trying to ween myself off waterproof mascara (I'm lazy and standard mascara is just far easier to get off). It gives good volume in just a few strokes, along with a decent helping in the length department. No where near as good as Maxfactor False Lash Effect though - that baby will always hold the number one spot in the mascara stash.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy: I dug this out of the stash to use in my Summer Makeup Essentials as one of my favourite summer blushes and realised that I had only used it once so far this year. That's borderline criminal if I'm honest as the sheer wash of bright peachy pink is perfect for this time of year and suits most skin tones perfectly.

Soleil Tan De Chanel: I've been getting a little bored of my super warm toned powder bronzer and fancied something a little more subtle for days when I don't want to be super bronzed. This is perfect for adding warmth to your face either on top or underneath your base. I apply it with the Real Technique Expert Face Brush or my fingers if i'm on the go. The only downside? It's a biatch to carry around in your makeup bag due to the size. It does look super pretty though when you pull it out for touch ups...

Sleek Makeup Pout Polish: Another rediscovery courtesy of my Summer Makeup Essentials. On minimal makeup days I've been loving a pink lip and this gives a build-able wash of peachy pink colour whilst being super hydrating. It also contains SPF which makes it an essential summers day companion.

After just one raid of my makeup drawer, I feel like I've purchased a whole new makeup bag - I think it is time for me to start shopping the stash a bit more instead of the isles in boots...

  22. It's crazy to think that Tarte blushes are so readily available in Canada, yet for some reason I don't own one yet.
I think next time I buy a blush, it might have to be a Tarte one.
