Since upping and moving somewhere a little more central, the boy and I sold the car and have been embracing something called "walking to work" - I think they call it that anyway. I have a 20 minute walk every morning - half of what my commute used to be. As a result my complexion is starting to improve and I've been sleeping in more, resulting in the need for super speedy makeup and a few new (and some old) makeup pieces being thrown into rotation.
Simple and Sheer: Although my skin needs very little coverage, I've been using the This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle to protect my skin from the busy congested roads around us on our way to work. It contains hyaluronic acid which helps to hydrate skin too - perfect for the colder months. I've also been giving my nails a break and opted for a more sheer Essie offering - Not Just A Pretty Face - a sheer, shiny, milky pink - the perfect nude shade to compliment minimal makeup. Keeping with the sheer, pink theme, I've been sweeping the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter over my lips to pull everything together.
The New Discoveries: A few weeks back I discovered that my Sleek Pout Polish in Electro Peach not only acts as a lip balm, but a beautiful (if not slightly tacky to touch) cream blush. It adds the perfect sheer pink/peach wash to my cheeks, and adds a lovely dewy sheen at the same time. I've also been trying out a few new bits from Clinique which get the good ol' thumbs up - the Clinique Chubby Stick for eyes in Ample Amber* is a lovely peachy cream version of All That Glitters by MAC and i've been sweeping it over the lid and blending with my fingers for super speedy application. I've also been getting to grips with the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara* - a rocky start but a few days in and we're getting on much better now. It gives length and Volume (in the not-so-natural kind of way) and comes of super easily with a swipe of Bioderma. Big. Thumbs. Up.
