NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Clinique Smoky Eye

If I remember rightly my first high end makeup love was back when I was 15 in the form of a single Clinique eyeshadow in Daybreak - a pearly, glowing nude shade. I've tried so many different eyeshadow formulas and to this day I think they have got to be my favourite. Recently I've fallen in love with the single shadows all over again but this time I've been loving something a little more warm and smokey than usual.

The star of the show here has got to be the Clinique Black Honey Eyeshadow*, a dark reddy/brown shade that can be used in the crease or blended all over for a smokey eye with a slightly different twist. Then we have At Dusk, a golden orange that can be sheered out for a light wash or built up for something a little more intense. In the photos above I blended Black Honey through the crease and into the centre of the lid over At Dusk. The two created a copper toned smoky eye that I fell in love with. I wore mine with a flick of liquid liner as we were shooting outfit photos, but it looks just as good with a smudge of brown kohl liner across the lash line.

P.S Ignore my wonky liner and unruly brows, it was one of those days...

  7. Looks stunning, I've never tried clinique make up before and usually stick to my trusty urban decay eye shadows, but this is lovely.

  8. I wanted to but the mono eye shadows this Christmas cause I read on Paula's Choice that they were good, but I bought a quad instead (I think it is called Pink Chocolate), I found the mono too expensive (for just one colour). Are you happy with the quality? Your makeup looks great!

  16. This is such a nice change of pace from other smokey eyes--you don't always see them in this coppery hue. I love how it plays off your skin tone! Thanks for sharing this look Suzie!
