NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Review: Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque

After my two month battle to restore my skin back to it's normal/combination self, things got a bit low on the ground when it came to skincare (and eyeshadow too, actually). How was I meant to recommend anything - minus the odd moisturiser - when my skin was completely out of sorts and looked terrible? I'm happy to say it's much more on the normal side now, and I feel like my old self again. Once my skin started to return to it's normal self the first thing I tried out was the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque. A present from Luce (could you have guessed?) that I'd been itching to crack open since I unwrapped it!

So, thoughts? I'd heard other girls say a hundred times over that this mask almost works as an undo button if you've neglected your skincare throughout the week. I'm pretty good with my routine so I can't vouch for that one - yet - but I've noticed my skin has been much better behaved since I started using this. I use it on a Sunday and a Wednesday to draw out any nasties lurking below the surface of my skin, making it look much clearer, and to perk up my complexion. Most masks I've used that extract impurities have been a little on the drying side but this mask is a good one for not being overly drying or leaving your skin feeling tight after - having just got out of a serious dry skin rut, I really appreciate this.

My Origins Clear Improvement Mask has officially been cast aside in favour of this, it really is such a great mask. If you're looking for a good cleansing mask I'd definitely look into this one. However it is worth being aware that it can really break some people out at first. Most people I know have been fine but there are some cases where it can be a bit too much for some peoples skin, so if you're prone to break outs you might want to speak to one of their consultants on counter before taking the plunge.

Seeing as my first Aesop experience has been a really positive one, I think I might invest in some more products from them - any recommendations? Pen and paper are at the ready...

  2. I really want to try this product and it sounds like it really was a winner if it even exceeded the Origins Mask. I need to get my hands on this!

  3. Being a Melbournian (home of Aesop), I always get stupidly cheered when I see people use and love Aesop! Stupid, like I said. But anyway, am a big fan of this mask (actually have it on right now!), and i am also quite liking the Parsley Seed Serum, as i have found that whilst it is an oil, it in not too oily, and sinks in quite nicely after my nightly cleanse, and before any moisturiser. It also mixed well with most of my moisturisers (non Aesop), to give a bit of a antioxidant kick when my skin needs it.

  11. Definitely give the Flight Therapy a go. It's a little scented rollerball that brings a bit of stress relief whenever you need it.

    Or basically anything from Aesop...

  28. I love love love Aesop. I'm particularly a huge fan of the Resurrection Hand Balm and the hand sanitizer. The hand balm in particular smells divine, and doesn't leave your hands sticky or greasy. I always make sure to keep a tube by my nightstand!

  33. Once I finish my clay mask...well maskssss (who am I kidding? I hoard skin care products like it's going out of business), I will look into purchasing a product from Aesop. I too have heard lovely things about the line!

  34. Yaay! I work at Aesop in Australia and I would definitely recommend our B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel. It's our most popular product for Aesop staff and it's incredible. It gives you a vitamin and hydration boost without leaving the skin tacky or heavy, and is also amazing at brightening (not lightening) the skin. AND it also aids your own natural collagen production. It's a bit pricey but it's more than worth it, I promise!!

  37. this looks great! maybe i'll treat myself some time soon, my skin is (luckily) quite well behaved when it comes to new products (i.e. not breaking out any more than usual) but i'm yet to find a mask that feels like it's working whilst also not leaving my face dry/tight xo
