NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Style Post: Ripped Jeans

Now that the cold is finally starting to lift on the coast, I've rediscovered an old style favourite from my teenage years: ripped jeans. I'll admit this take is slightly more subtle than my H&M jeans that looked like the'd spent the night with Edward scissor hands but I still like it. Even if I am occasionally asked if I know I have a hole in my jeans. Thanks, Mum.

I posted these on Instagram a few weeks back and had a few people ask where they where from. The jeans were from Missguided*, but the rips were all my doing. I wanted to add a little something to an all black outfit one morning and after making a few cuts (1cm wide) into the knees I got ripping. If you're feeling a little stressed and want to make yourself feel better then I'd definitely recommend giving this a go as it did feel very therapeutic. I have been told I look like I'm rocking the homeless vibe by my dad (yes, can afford multiple trips to space NK but not a pair of jeans?) and frequently get asked if my knees are cold (strangely not) but I like them. 15 year old Suzie would be proud.

  1. Oh, the nostalgia :) It's really been a while! I love the look on you, especially considering your usual very lady like style, this just adds a cool little detail, that creates an edge :)

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love it! tried to do this to my own jeans a while back and ended up accidently ripping a hole of gigantic proportions in the exact opposite direction than intended. Not happy.

And I understand the questions you get, I get them as well from people trying to be funny. They can say whatever they want, still wearing ripped jeans! (I'm such a rebel haha)

  36. I've been on the hunt for some ripped skinny jeans recently but have failed to find any - all the ripped jeans tend to be a boyfriend fit or loose fitting jean. I didn't even think to just cut a pair that i already had! Thanks for the idea, i'm going to give it a try! :) xo
