NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation

A certain state-side brand recently made its way across the pond - say the word "Tarte" and even Mummy October knows the highly coveted name - years of bringing items back from her travels for me have clearly embedded the name in her brain. Since it's recent UK launch on QVC I've been trailing a few pieces from the UK range and, un-surprisingly, out of everything a foundation caught my eye..

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation* was quite possibly the last foundation I expected to fall in love with from the range. You guys know me - full coverage foundation just ain't my thang - and 12-hour wear just never ends up being 12 hour wear. Total first world girl problems right there. But I'll give anything a try once, and whilst in a serious rush to get ready last week I slapped a little on (in the shade "fair") with my fingers. It blended seamlessly and gave a satin finish accompanied by some serious coverage. Think Giorgio Amarni, but with the ability to smooth over pores (I have an oily t-zone, you can see them from the moon, okay?). Unsurprising really, it feels quite heavy on the silicone, but I like that. It's no dewy glow, but there's just something about this one that I can't help but love.

I've tried various brush applications but over all, fingers work best and give the most beautiful finish. It also works amazingly well when mixed 50/50 with the Dior Glow Maximizer Light Boosting Primer. And yes I'm high five-ing myself for slipping that primer into yet another post...

So there goes another one making it's home in the Muji foundation drawer of fame. I have a sneaking suspicion that it won't be the last...

  3. This sounds so gorgeous. I don't know why but the 'amazonian clay' in the title always gave me the impression that it would be really thick? but you have convinced me otherwise :)

  8. Hi Suzie, I watch EssieButton's video about this foundation and wanted to try it, now I want to try it even more. I really like the finish of it on your picture (can we also take a moment to appreciate your perfect eyeliner and eyebrows?). I just have to be patient and wish to travel to UK or Tarte to come to Spain. Xo Alexandra

  20. If this foundation is heavy on the silicone, I'm wondering if it'll end up breaking me out. I'll have to give this one more thought, but thanks for giving us your opinion! Much appreciated.

  25. It looks very nice! But we don't have Tarte in France *crying emoji*. So for me the "going to the USA and coming back with an incalculable things related to makeup" is not an option for now, it's a necessity.
