It's very rare that I'm the designated gift buyer when it comes to a colleagues birthday, but this month at work the birthday girl has a perchant for things that are, what some would consider, my specialty. I was shipped off to Space NK with a few gift ideas and my N.Dulge card and the idea that I wouldn't veer off plan at all. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
A few things fell in to my basket. Shock and horror. I know. But the real star of my spendy moment was one of the new additions to the Nars Satin Lip Pencil range - Mandore. A dark oxblood red that doesn't give any hint of a "berry" undertone like every other autumnal shade out there. Hallelujah. It's the right side of browny red and has a lovely sheen thanks to it's satin properties - although I do think this would be absolutely gorgeous as a velvet matte pencil too. Unless you get down to some blotting I wouldn't chow down on a pizza with this formula as things could get smudgy, but over the course of the day the formula will matte down and the colour will stay. And that my friends is why the Nars lip pencils are just the bomb.
This discovery also illustrates the importance of implementing the "one for you, one for me" system in gift buying - non?
