NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Sunday Post: Date Night

If you watched my latest vlog you'll know that a couple of weeks ago the boy and I went out for a nice little dinner at Cote - one of those magical places that when you're an innocent Brighton home-body you think that it's the fanciest, most expensive restaurant on the planet (in my defence the Brighton Cote is incredible)  - and then you grow up, discover the joys (and prices) of London and all of a sudden Cote is just a lovely little chain that isn't actually that bad at all.

We went all out with three courses and left feeling incredibly full. The garlic bread was by far the best I've ever had - EVER. Still dreaming (and drooling) about it. We both had the minute steak - so affordable and super speedy when you're starving - it's definitely in my top 5 steaks as the meat is just so lovely. Note: not quite number one though, I'll tell you about that one another day. Their fries are also heavenly, think Burger King fries but at least one hundred times better in taste and quality.

To finish off I had the frozen summer berries with melted white chocolate. It was good, but honestly unless you're really into that kind of desert, you could easily make it at home. Josh had a very suspect looking toffee desert which was a terror to photograph, so I'll save you that one, but he did enjoyed his a lot!

Next date night, I'm thinking sushi - yes, one of the most non date appropriate foods, but I have a little gem I want to introduce you to and I need an excuse!

  14. That steak looks like an island! And I'm with you - Cote is just fine for a nice, simple date night, even if you are a hardened Londoner (urgh) like I am these days. I grew up in Brighton, and I just bet we have mutual friends, what with Brighton being so incestuous!
