NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Review: Clinique Sonic System Cleansing Brush

-SPONSORED POST-

Recently I've been giving the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush* a whirl after being challenged by Clinique to try out the product for ten days. I'm forever heavily sceptical about introducing new products in to my skincare routine - even if it is just a tool - as the smallest change can send my skin off on one.

I've been using the brush once a day for up to a minute (though when I started I was using it for 30 seconds, once a day) in the evening after taking off the top layer of makeup using a cleansing water. I apply my usual cleanser to my face, but instead of using my hands to massage the product in I've been using the cleansing brush to buff the product in to my skin. I add a small amount of water to the brush before use to dampen it, and then buff the product in in circular motions. This brush doesn't have a rotating head, but I'm totally on board with that as I've found it's far less abrasive and there's no unwanted catching or snagging around my piercing.

For the first three days my skin felt red and sore after use as it wasn't used to the product, but after around four days of use my skins surface started to look a lot more even and the redness on my skin is back to it's usual behaviour - if not slightly better. My skin looks clearer and spots are healing quicker. It's also quite a fun product to add in to your cleansing routine to spice it up a little - I've found I've really looked forward to using this over the past few weeks!

After use I rise the brush off and make sure all of the product has been cleared off the brush head, before taking off the excess water with a towel. I then leave the brush to dry naturally - only charging when needed. The battery life on this one is great (though it is brand new at the moment) and I think this would be easy to take on holiday sans charger due to the battery life and size.

  1. I've seen other reviews on this product and I'm still not sure if my skin would get along with a brush but I'm actually really curious to try it!

  2. I really want to try something like this because I do like a more deep clean than just using my hands. There are so many on the market though, it's so hard to decide.

  4. After seeing quite a few reviews of this it seems really good! It's slightly expensive but if it does the job you can't really complain. I love the feeling of a deep clean and you don't really get that from using your hands. There's just so many cleansing brushes available with amazing reviews it's hard to decide which one to use!

  6. Definitely something I'm up for splurging on. It sounds like something my skin could benefit greatly from, especially considering I'm going into the warmer months! Great review (as always) Suzie! xx

  9. I own the braun face brush and it's amazing since I didn't want to spend that much money on a clarisonic. The clinique one sounds pretty nice as well

  14. Looks nice! I've had my Clarisonic aria for a year and a half and I've learnt what works for me through trial and error! - the morning and night with the super gentle brush that they suggested was breaking the bloog vessels on my face! - Now I use it twice a week or so for a deep cleansing and my skin feels happier!

  20. I bought this cleansing brush because of your review and I love it! I have sensitive and blemish/oily skin and this is the best skin care item I have ever bought. My skin is completely changed after just 14 days of use. It's really amazing. It's the only thing I changed in my skin care, and I really could not believe the change in my skin.
