NEW TO MY WARDROBE

The Sunday Post: Blog/Life Updates

There's no denying, Sunday posts (and posts in general) have been a little slack around here recently - such a shame because they are my favourite post to write. The past month has seen one of the busiest and most stressful months, all made even worse by the fact that I couldn't really say what was going on.

Working full time and blogging full time for me used to go hand in hand, and I could manage the two without even really thinking about it. But when it eventually came to running more of the business side of things (sorry to take the romance out of Hello October, but I like to think content has never really changed despite this) I starred to really struggle. I was under a lot of pressure at work, and not shutting off on the weekends was really taking it's toll on me both physically and mentally.

My job role isn't really one that most people stay in for very long due to the stressful nature and, after more than two years in that role, I started to become really unhappy. Everyone around me could see I was burning out and it came to the point where I had to choose my job or my blog.

I gave my notice and last Friday was my last day in the office, we built a fort and ordered pizza and decided that every Friday should be that way. I totally vlogged it, so you'll see Day 1 of Vlogmas tomorrow at 6pm (SQUEEEE!) and am looking forward to devoting some serious time to my little internet space that has come so far in three years.

It almost goes without saying, but I hope you'll all understand that I'm not doing this for an easy ride, or to make crazy amounts of money. I'm doing this so that I can spend more time living a healthy lifestyle, spending more time with the people I love and doing a job that I love (that doesn't give me high blood pressure or grey hairs).

A big thank you to all of you for sticking by me through my radio silence. I hope you're excited as I am for the months ahead and for vlogmas! Every other day at 6pm - be there. (Imagine I used the emoji fist there) But seriously, thank you for sticking by me and for all of your support that has allowed me to be in a position where I can make this choice. All the loves for you x

  5. I have always admired so, so much the obvious time and effort that you put into your blog and channel, all while working a full time job, but could never imagine how you actually balanced it all. I think this will be such a positive change for you and I can't wait to see the content you create with more time on your hands!

  21. Dear Suzie,
I have always admired how you managed to run such a wonderful blog (both on the design and content fronts) alongside working a full-time job. Working a stressful job myself I always appreciated the effort and hard work you put into your blog posts and your videos. While I was excited when you put out a blog post or video (and always on time!!!) I've always wondered how you managed your time in order to do these wonderful things for our enjoyment whilst having some time for yourself as well. I see now that it all had taken a toll on you :( However hard the decision I'm happy that you chose to turn the situation into what is best for you. I speak for myself (and maybe for other readers and subbies) when I say that we'd support you no matter what. However, I'm thrilled that you picked your blog ;) And I'm so excited for what December and the New Year will bring for you, your blog and Youtube channel.
Wishing you some relaxation and happy times!

  70. How exciting Suzie! You really deserve it. I just hope you'll continue to tell us whether a product was sent to you or if you bought it yourself. That is the main reason why I respect you so much, bloggers like Estee, Lily and Anna never admit that the products were sent to them. Very disappointing. I hope it will all work out for you! Really love your blog :)

It's inspiring to see you being proactive about making your life the way you want it to be - I kind of wish I could muster up the courage to do a similar thing! I've stuck with your blog and channel longer than anyone else's because your content is always amazing and because I love how honest you are. If focusing more on the blog means taking on more partnerships/sponsors/ads/etc., as long as you stay honest then I think it's a great thing! You obviously work so hard on all these lovely things you share with us and it's wonderful to see that that work can also support you. Good luck and best wishes!! :)
