Although it's been presented above in a cute little jar, I can keep this in the bottle I blend it in and switch the lid, which makes for minimal washing up and something super yummy to eat in transit. I'll admit these aren't the most low calorie breakfasts around, but I always make sure to throw spinach or veggies in, as well as oats to make it filling, and try to keep the ingredients as clean as possible.
With that in mind, I recently concocted a very yummy Hazelnut Breakfast Smoothie - it is a little naughty but the perfect breakfast for sleepy sweet toothed weekend mornings that need a little kick in to action.
WHAT'S IN IT?
- 1 (OR MORE) TBSP CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT BUTTER (YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN OR BUY PRE MADE - I DON'T JUDGE)
- 1 AVOCADO (YOU CAN SUB THIS FOR A BANANA IF YOU DON'T LIKE AVOCADOS, BUT I HATE BANANAS)
- 1 HANDFUL OF SPINACH
- 1 CUP HAZELNUT MILK (OR WHATEVER MILK YOU LIKE)
- 1 HANDFUL OF OATS
- 1/2 HANDFUL OF RAW COCOA NIBS OR DARK CHOCOLATE CHIPS (WHICH EVER YOU PREFER/HAVE AVAILABLE TO YOU)
BLEND IT ALL TOGETHER. ADD MORE MILK IF NEEDED AND IF THINGS GET TOO LIQUID-Y FOR YOU THEN ADD SOME MORE OATS OR NATURAL YOGHURT.
Depending on how much of each ingredient you choose to add you will end up with a slightly different serving - this can be a large serving for one or a regular serving for two! You can also create a breakfast bowl out of it too if you're a fan. Add some natural yoghurt and maybe a banana in to the mix and I'm pretty certain that would taste wonderful!
