NARS AUDACIOUS MASCARA.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve having a bit of a mascara moment right now, there’s a new launch on the horizon I can’t wait to tell you about, a beaut of a new mascara from Max Factor in the form of their Velvet Volume mascara (the review for that is also about to drop) and now the Nars Audacious Mascara. It took me a long time to come around to loving this one (I even turned down work on it as I wanted to test it out for longer), but after finally giving it a good run for it’s money I can officially give my verdict on this one. It’s making an appearance so of course it’s love, but let me tell you why…
Okay so the consistency is good, really good. Not too liquid based so you end up with five clumps of lashes, and not too dry that you end up with your mascara in your eye by 3pm. It’s also jet black. Any mascara that’s not super black won’t make it past one application run with me, but this one is super SUPER black after just one coat. Thumbs up all over for the formula. It’s not too crispy either so layering later in the day is a breeze.
Looks like it shouldn’t work, but some how it just does… There are different lengths of bristle that catch the lashes and give a totally un-even flutter. It shouldn’t look good, and definitely doesn’t sound good. But something about it just works! It gives serious length and volume. The only area where it needs a little help is separation. However I find that for me most mascaras need this when brand new (heads up a Max Factor FLE brush is the best for giving a perfectly separated fan of lashes - I advise always keeping one to hand) so in I go with a different wand at the end to break things up a little.
The end result is a full lash look that almost mimics the effect of some of my favourite false lashes. Given the fact that I’ll do anything to avoid wearing lashes unless I absolutely must, this one’s got my seal of approval stamped all over it.
