I cannot tell you how long I had been on the hunt for Facets of Fuchsia, and both my local Boots and Super drug just seemed to be constantly sold out. But Last week I went and saw Megan, and I seem to do this thing with her where I go through her make up as if I’m shopping in Boots (I do apologise Megan as I think it’s weird when people do it to me!). Anyway I was having a rifle through her amazing nail varnish collection and came across this, she told me she hasn’t really been getting on with it and that I could try it out. (I noted the “try it out” – it means she wants it back and I must remember that!)
So how did I get on with it? Well I’m disappointed as I expected more, but in this little polishes defense it was majorly hyped up. Its a black based polish mixed with Purple/Fuchsia coloured glitter of different shaped and sizes. On the nails the glitter just isn’t as thick as it looks in the bottle, and would need around 5 coats (maybe more) to reach my desired effect (please take note of my desired effect – not everyone was expecting as much glitter as I was). If you’re not a massive fan of thick glitter then this will be right up your street, I’m going to try it with some more coats and see how I feel but who really wants to be putting 5 coats on? On the bright side it dries super fast and doesn’t chip easily.
If you are happy with the small amount of glitter that is applied with each coat, I would recommend paining your with a couple of coats of black nail varnish before applying this as the black from the bottle is really sheer and still needs at least 3 coats for a black base (even though it says 2).
So to put it simply, it’s beautiful when you finally get there, it doesn’t cost the earth at £6, so if you are interested in buying it, then it is worth giving it a try.
