Just a quick post to explain the crazy week I had last week and to reveal a little bit of good news that came from it. I’ve mentioned a few times over the past week that I’ve been backwards and forwards from London to Brighton more than normal (when I say more than normal, I mean I had to actually go there – which is an irregularity in itself!). Normally the thought of London is something I relesh in, on an average day the trains and tubes and hustle of London are something I don’t really mind, and the prospect of Oxford Street will always make me that little bit chirpier. However, this time I was visiting London for an interview, a big fat scary job interview!
I’m not going to sugar coat it, the thought of London completely alone absolutely terrified me, especially when studio hired for the interviews was in a rather undesirable location. Never the less I persisted, planned out, practiced and timed my route to ensure I wouldn’t be late or lost, and when it came down to it, I actually almost found the experience… enjoyable!?
My trains ran (almost) smoothly, if you ignore the fact that I missed my first train, but a few switcharoo’s later and I was back on track, and actually arrived early for my interview. We met with the heads of the company, had our head shots taken and filmed a little bit and then had some group/team work tasks. I left the interviews, unsure of how it went (its hard to tell with group interviews) but hoped for the best. As of this morning I am not only working full time as a marketing assistant but will now be working part time in events promotions!* It will involve a variety of different jobs but I’m so excited as I really wanted my career to venture more down the events path, and I will definitely let you know what I get up to over the next few months with that!
Anyway, this was a slightly random blog post, but I decided to share my good news! Don’t worry normal blogging service will commence tomorrow – I’ll be back with my February Favourites!
*Just wanted to note that I don’t want to mention for company for both my privacy reasons and theirs, once I’ve been working for them a while things might change but for the time being, its a not so exciting mystery!
