Who doesn’t love a bit of cocktail making on a Friday after work? I certainly am not one to pass up the opportunity! In my line of work we get some pretty nice benefits from all the bars and clubs we work with, however the one bummer is the relaxed working dress code and the more dressed up look that goes with the after work drinks. It had to be something that felt appropriate in both environments and that could cope with the crazy and ever changing office temperatures… Yes this much thought does go into my outfits on a daily basis… it’s painful.
Anyway, this is the overall look I went for.I bought the river island skirt and instantly knew it would look amazing teamed with bright pieces – a trend I have definitely struggled to put together before! I teamed it with my H&M blazer and Office knockoff wedges to give it the more “after work” feel. Rest assured the wedges were strictly reserved for post 5:30.*
I left my hair down with a ton of Batiste XXL to give it that Cheryl Cole boost. I kept my make up fairly simple to counteract the bright top – think nudes, lashings of mascara and eyeliner with bronzed cheeks and glossy nude lips.
I wish I’d had my camera with me for the actual night, but I didn’t want to whack my bridge camera out in the middle of everything! I would have loved the chance to photograph the Mudslides and Russian Brides, but I’m pretty sure I’m returning for the boyfriends birthday very soon, so watch this space!
What’s your favourite cocktail? (for you over 18’s and 21’s 😉 Mine is most definitely the Mudslide, an alcoholic chocolate milkshake – what’s not to love!
