Definitely feeding those with a foot fetish today, but I wanted to do a little post for you about a part of my summer body preparation that sits (metaphorically) very close to my heart. I don’t love feet, especially not my own, so once the summer months start to come around I start to really start looking after my feet to avoid feeling insecure abut them! (This is majorly important as I live in sandles… honestly, if I didn’t have to wear shoes i wouldn’t so they’re the closest type of footwear to none! But anyway, I digress…)
I start by taking a really long hot soak in the tub! Really warm, plenty of bubbles and I put a little bit of any random bath oil I have lying around into the mix just to make my whole body really nice and soft! Post soak, I dry my feet and use my Body Shop foot file (the tough side) to file away any dry skin on the bottom of my feet.
I then apply the Heel Genius Foot Cream by Soap and Glory. I do sit there for a fair while with my feet covered in this and whilst it all soaks in I trim and file the nails. I then paint my toe nails, more often than not it’s likely to be a crazy bright colour (this post features War Paint by Topshop) as it just contributes to that summer feeling!
I try not to do this whole routine more than once every two weeks, as soaking my feet in cream can cause them to blister more easily – owies!
Ironically my feet are covered in cuts and blisters at this current point in time, but hopefully by next week they will be all better and I can treat my feet again in preparation for my holiday!
