Mac Ruby Woo has been on my radar for a long time now, competing with Mac’s “Red”, “Russian Red” and “Lady Danger” for my love. I popped into my local Mac store with the lovely Gee (blog link here) the other day and she picked this one out and basically sold it to me as she owns it herself. Ruby Woo is a slightly darker shade of red, not as dark as “Russian Red”, but not as Bright as Macs “Red” or Vivio “Red Red”. The thing I love is that it’s a matt finish, it feels much more day time, and lasts longer – I just have to make sure I have well moisturised lips before hand. I like that I can also jazz it up with a red lipgloss (Revlon “Fire Cracker” is my current love) if I’m feeling like I want a slightly glossier finish. Admittedly, the majority of mac lipsticks I own are either creamsheens or glaze finishes. This is the first matt one, and it does take some getting used to, but I would say it’s a must have for those looking for a really wearable red to add to their collection.
If you fancy seeing my newest little gem in action, I tweeted(@hello_october_) and instagrammed (@suzieebee) a photo of myself wearing it earlier today, as I decided to go down the 1950’s-esk route today. I’m also thinking of including it in a Youtube video soon as I haven’t filmed one in so long!
