It’s no secret that I’m not the biggest fan of high street/drugstore products – you can take me to a Space NK any day but if you ask me to visit Superdrug, I’ll bolt at an Olympic standard (some of the stores in Brighton are just plain nasty). On the rare occasion I find a product that draws me in – I visit the the cleaner Superdrug on London Road – sometimes I’m disappointed with the product I was seeking, but occasionally I come out with more than I ventured in for. Cue last Tuesdays purchases:
Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polishes:
These are wonderfully long lasting and come in an amazing range of colours. I picked up the shade “Quite Contrary”(a pale grey with a blue/lilac hue) and “Round and Round The Garden” (a grey/green shade that looks more vibrant in direct sunlight). They’re both unexpectedly perfect for summer, and last a few rounds of glove-less washing up, so they have the thumbs up from me!
Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer (02)
One of my all time favourite concealers, this does a wonderful job of concealing and brightening, without being too heavy or drying. It works perfectly for both under eyes and on spots so it’s a great one if you’re on a budget or traveling and can’t be dealing with the farce that can occasionally be using more than one concealer.
Bourjois Colour Boost (Orange Punch)
The unexpected love of my lip laquer life. It’s not orange in the slightest but lasts a good while before it starts to wear away and gives a lovely natural pink tone to my lips. Despite having a slight allergy to any lip product with colour in it – I’ve still worn it every day since it’s purchase.
Superdrug Fluffy White Flannels
I can’t go into a Superdrug without picking these up. At 99p each, they’re a steal. No, not as cheap as the Primark deal of three for £1.50, but they’re so soft, even after a fight with the washing machine and our nasty detergent (it was on offer and will not be repurchased – Sainsburys shopper problems for you there). I like having white flannels as you can see how dirty they are. This probably doesn’t sound like everyones idea of a good time, but it does remind you to use a new one every day!
