It really wasn’t all that long ago that I longed for a collection of purely matt eyeshadows, and that any sign of shimmer had me running a mile, but things have changed (even though I’m not sure what those things are) and I’ve been embracing a subtle bit of shimmer during the day lately.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m never going near a full on glitter pigment or cheap and chalky shimmer from Superdrug, but a finely milled MAC eyeshadow will fit the bill just fine, and for day to day wears, that’s where All That Glitters comes in. A beautiful natural pink shadow with the finest gold-ish shimmer running through. It catches the light beautifully and is perfect if you want to go light on the eye makeup without looking too natural. Photographing this one was tricky business as it’s difficult to capture how beautiful it looks on camera – especially the beautiful sheen it brings to the eye lid – but my iPhone camera came to the rescue and did the best out of the three cameras trailed.
If I’m whole heartedly refusing to make an effort when applying this, I use my finger and blend lightly, patting a little extra over the center of the lid once i’m done. But if I’m really feeling it, I go heavier (pictured above) and blend the edges out with a 217 and a swirl of MACs charcoal brown on the crease. Perfecto.
I’m currently still on the hunt for more shades to add to the MAC shadow stash i’m currently hiding away (more on that next week), so if you have any recommendations of shades that are an absolute must then leave them below!
