Red vs nude lipsticks. If you’d asked me which I prefer this time last year my answer would have been nude. Always nude. However my recent Rimmel purchases have got me questioning the old ways and I’m pretty sure i’m on teetering on the edge of a red revolution.
I’d been trying to hunt Notting Hill Nude in the Rimmel Moisture Renew range down for longer than I care to admit. *Sigh* Brighton is just not one for beauty shopping. The newly reformulated lipsticks definitely sit better on the lips than they used to which is obviously a welcome change, but once I actually got my hands on Notting Hill Nude I was a little disappointed, it looks amazing on Lily – which is where I originally saw this one – but does nothing for me even after breaking out the bronzer. The Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter in 03 definitely makes it a little more wearable, but it’s got nothing on Hue or Shy Girl.
But my second purchase? In Love With Ginger. A super flattering orange toned red which just brightens up the face and is surprisingly wearable. I’ve been applying this on a work day and throwing on jeans, a slouchy shirt and hat and somehow manage to look somewhat put together? It’s definitely love, and I pay have purchased another red just yesterday. Oops.
So, red vs. nude?
