Most Loved: This Week

For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to incorporate a little more green in with the predominantly white/cream decor of our flat. It just makes things look a little more homely – like someone actually lives here – instead of lots of clear all white surfaces.

I started by picking up an Aloe plant and a couple of money trees in Homebase. The latter are much bigger than the plants above, so they live on top of my Ikea Expedit, making the most of the high ceilings we have. The rest are dotted around the flat and move around on a daily basis. We have two non spiky cacti and the aloe plant in the bedroom, and the spiky cactus lives in the living room, alongside a dozen candles on our coffee table. The mini cacti are from Ikea and are so affordable – they even come in cute little white pots. I’ve been moving them around a lot this week, trying to find the perfect place for them.

I think another trip to ikea will definitely be on the cards soon, we’re rapidly outgrowing a generously sized flat (Oops) so I think a few more storage options are on the cards. And I want more plants, obviously…

Hello!;) I use aloe vera gel from the start of this year and I must say it's top of the top best cosmetics for sensitive skin πŸ˜‰ All of redness and imperfections – disappear. I recommend you πŸ™‚
I heard that you can rub (gently) a skin freshly sliced aloe leaves:) More plants in room is better for us – green and fresh ;))) take care Suzie! :*

I think when I get my own place I'm definitely going to have plants in each room. They add so much vibrance to a room and can make your mood better.

I really need to do the same and buy some plants to liven up my rooms a little bit. It's such a great idea. I'm sure I read somewhere that the air will be healthier too if you have a room with plants in because of the oxygen/carbon dioxide levels.

We have plants everywhere here and is also planting season. I would love more herbs plant though, I like to cook straight from the pot!

I also suffer from making all surfaces and decor white in my home. I try to incorporate purple elements but I like the green!

This is such a good idea – I live in a student house and it's a bit hard to incorporate plants into the decor with a shared thing, but I always prefer greenery, even if it's just a vase of flowers in my room! I'm obsessed with yellow tulips at the moment, they just light up a room!

I agree, plants just make your home so much happier and brighter! One of my resolutions for 2014 was to have more fresh flowers and plants dotted around.

One of my mother's decorating rules is that each room should have life in it, by life she means real living plants. It's amazing how much a small green desk plant or a bouquet of fresh flowers completely changes the atmosphere and everyone's mood.

I love flowers but we had a distinct lack of them, on payday I'm going to treat myself to a new vase and some beautiful flowers.

    Great post Suzie.
