Just Landed(ish): Clarins Colours of Brazil Collection

The latest Clarins collection has been doing the rounds for a while now, so my “just landed” category will now be sporting a rather dated new release, but what can ya do? I was really excited to try out this collection and have some definite ‘must haves” and a few surprising “leaves”.

Loves: First up – if you buy anything from this collection, let it be a Balm Crayon. A gloss, balm lip crayon hybrid, they deposit a sheer wash of (surprisingly long lasting) colour, whilst being lovely and glossy and nourishing. I love and own shades 01 and 03 (but 02 is beautiful too). The waterproof mascara is another of my loves – I’ve never liked a high end mascara before but this one has cracked me. Good hold with a lovely lengthening and volumising formula. Thumbs up.

Leaves: The Clarins Summer Bronzing Compact is one that has been raved about time and time again, but between my Liz Earle and Benefit loves, this just doesn’t wow. Your pennies could definitely be spent better elsewhere (IMO). And then we have the beautiful eye and liner palette. This is more of a “not for me” kind of leave, as there’s no denying it’s beautiful and has some serious wow factor, but will I ever use that blue shadow? Probably not. But if you’re a major eyeshadow lover, the two bold colours are very unique and are the perfect addition to a colour collection.

The palette looks so pretty! I love every color except the blue one.. Hmm. Everyone´s getting ready for the world cup, even Clarins haha! (Or is it just a coincidence?)

I would not get the use out of a blue eyeshadow, what a waste! I wish the packaging of the bronzers were nicer!

The embossed pattern on the bronzer I think draws us all in whether we need it or not. The balms look cute but I can't justify the price as they just never last on the lips for me. They look lovely but I think I'll skip this collection!

I love the colours in this collection and especially loving the look of the Balm Crayons! Although it would take a lot to make me part with my cash when I can get Revlon's finest at Boots for half the price 🙂 X

I thought I was the only one who didn't understand the point of that blue eyeshadow either, I mean it's pretty and all but it somehow doesn't fit with the palette, not for a supposedly wearable type of palette at least! X
