Summer bases: Like winter, but different. I love lightweight bases all year round so my summer base routine very rarely changes. But the weather this year has been consistently humid and I’ve been getting my sweat on daily. To kick start this years “Summer Series” I thought I’d talk you through the dreamy base combo I’ve discovered and have been sticking to so far this year…
I start by smoothing the Benefit Dream Screen SPF* over my face and then apply my Nars Tinted Moisturiser (my go-to base for the majority of 2014 so far) and blend it in using my Tarte foundation brush*. The brush is so huge that it blends in seconds and gives the most flawless finish.
I’ve been fairly red around the centre of my face due to dietary fails, so I’ve been dotting a generous amount of my Nars Creamy Concealer in the shade Custard all over and blending with which ever brush is closest. I then set everything and give a little more coverage where I need it by using the Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder Foundation* – I hate the brush it comes with so I use my Sephora Mineral Powder brush to buff everything in. This step helps massively when things start to get a little hot and sticky. Finally, my new favourite, Benefit’s Hoola bronzer* is swept in the double C motion, as well as down my nose to contour and add a natural bronzed look to my face.
Et voila, this routine is quite literally the bomb (dot com…) and even when I’m not feeling eye makeup, this speedy little routine has me looking a little less puffy and red and a little more… well, just not a tomato.
