Once again we’re ignoring the time stamp lingering over this post as those of you who keep tabs on my Instagram will recognise this trip from last month. But Amsterdam was too gorgeous not to share – as was the whole experience I was lucky have shared with Viktor & Rolf and a few of my favourite people from the industry.
When Viktor & Rolf invited me out to Amsterdam to visit their house and get a preview of their latest addition to the fragrance family, I wasn’t quite expecting everything they had in store for us. Staying in the gorgeous Hoxton Hotel for a night, dining at Mr Porter and getting a tour of the Viktor and Rolf House (which heads up, when I say house – think huge gorgeous period building with the high§est ceilings and gorgeous architecture), flower arranging in their garden and meeting Little Swan – their adorable sausage dog. All in aid of the new Bon Bon Couture Fragrance.Possibly my favourite scent from them yet.
The fragrance itself has notes of caramel – it’s sweet yet musky and deep and I’m all over it – whilst the bottle has a beautiful mauve ombre effect to it. Totally gorgeous and totally worth a whiff if you pass it in stores.
As for the city itself? Amsterdam is beyond beautiful and it was a bittersweet 24 hours spent there. I’m already planning my return trip as 24 hours is just not long enough – although I am forever grateful to the V&R team for their hospitality and also for the boat tour around the city. It allowed me to see so much in the time we had, as well as giving us all a chance to bask in the beautiful sunshine. On that note – we totally lucked out with the weather according to locals and it was warm enough for a little summer dress. So it would be rude not to have whipped out this little white number, right?
